Blink book cover
A re-design for the cover of Malcolm Gladwell’s ‘Blink’. My design takes on the idea that to have that instant first impression you need to have the urge to look twice. It is in the second glance that you make a conscious decision to judge someone.
By using an intriguing, decorative hand drawn pattern of an optical illusion you can see how the eye and brain work together making assumptions about the world. I believe this shows a similar message to how snap judgments are made in the book ‘Blink’.
This brief was set by Penguin and with this design I was shortlisted for the Penguin Design Award 2007.
