Gilbert and Sullivan Series

The Mikado
A modern poster for the Gilbert and Sullivan masterpiece ‘The Mikado’. I wanted to create an eye catching poster that would revitalise and capture the essence of the opera. Showing again at The Savoy Theatre 122 years after it first opened on 14th March 1885.

The Pirates of Penzance
A poster for one of the most successful Gilbert and Sullivan operas. I created a modern representation of the second poster in a series for the The Savoy Operas. This poster promotes a modern version of the play that first opened at The Savoy Theatre on 23rd December 1884.

The Sorcerer
A modern adaption of the poster for the comic opera 'The Sorcerer'. This opera was opened on the 17th November, 1877 but was revived at The Savoy Theatre on the 11th October, 1884.

I have also included how these posters would be implemented throughout London celebrating the Gilbert and Sullivan season. The season is sponsored by the Arts Council.
